State Committee / National LP Report
The LPNY has accepted applications for 43 delegates, and 43 alternates shortly. The NYLP state committee will be voting soon on those who made the cut.
The National Convention will be in Reno, NV this May. Just a reminder, even if you have not been chosen to be a delegate, you are still welcome to attend the convention.
NYLP is holding a meeting in Albany on February 19-20, to nominate for state wide Candidates, ie Governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, comptroller and US Senator.
Election District Delegate Project
5 new Election District Delegates were nominated and approved this month.Mark is still working on collecting Election District Delegates in order to be recognized as an official political party in Monroe County. The goal of this project is to fill at least 25% of the EDD positions by January, 2022. Find more information here
If you’re interesting in becoming an election district delegate, contact Mark by sending an email to mglogowski08@gmail.com.
Legislature Issues
Importantly but unfortunately, on December 22nd the US District Court Judge John Koeltl, upheld the New statewide petition requirements. NYLP will appeal of course. But we must plan to get the new higher 45,000 signatures test to get on the ballot this year!! The Judge issued his quite long decision 1 day after the oral arguments. It appears his decision was made prior to hearing our attorney!
